I will be sending a Home/School Folder home Monday-Thursdays. Important papers and notes will be put in this folder to be delivered to you. The left side pocket is for papers to be left at home. The right side is for papers to be returned to school. This folder needs to be carried to and from school each day and I will keep them on Friday and return them to the children on Monday. I will ask the children to bring them to me first thing each morning and I will give them back at the end of each day. Please remember to ask to see this folder each night. Thank you for your support.

One of our goals in First Grade is learning to read. We will be working on this goal every day and you have a part to play at home. During the first quarter, I will send home a poem on Mondays with a family page, and a log sheet. The routine is simple: Enjoy the poem together. Then. spend a few minutes doing the activities on the family page. I will mark the log sheet to tell you which ones to use with your child, but feel free to try activities from the other two sections as well. On the log sheet, record the amount of time you and your child have spent on the routine, 5-15 minutes is fine. Please have your child return the log sheet each day. Soon they will be bringing home books to read. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions. Together we will help your child become a strong and successful reader.
