Eighth Grade - Ms. Renaud

July 2017

Greetings from the new 8th grade teacher!

I’m so happy to be part of the Concho community.  This is actually my second year at Concho.  I was privileged to spend last year serving as a substitute teacher and para pro.  It was a great opportunity to get to know everyone, staff and students alike.  Now I have a classroom of my own where I share the day with the 7th and 8th graders.  Each academic year brings new and exciting challenges.  This year I look forward to working with your sons and daughters in our language arts and social studies classes.  We will integrate the two content areas by utilizing primary source documents, historical novels, textbooks, internet resources, and even the Sunday edition of the newspaper!

I grew up knowing I wanted to be a teacher, and I have never been disappointed in my career choice.   I received my undergraduate degree in history from Dominican University in San Rafael CA and my master’s degree in literacy from Leslie University in Cambridge MA.  In addition to Arizona, I have also taught in California, Washington, and Alaska.  My previous teaching assignments have included 2nd and 4th grades, junior high social studies/language arts, and high school social studies.  I have also served as a district reading specialist and a GED instructor.

I am excited to be part of the team here at Concho Elementary School. It will be a great year!
